Many bank account bonuses require a "direct deposit," but not every bank defines it the same way. While employers and government payments are the standard, some banks also accept transfers from other accounts as qualifying deposits.

To increase your chances of triggering a bonus, always make push transfers (sending money from one bank into the new one). Pull transfers usually don't count.
